All classes are introductory and held on Wednesday nights from 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Cost:: $150.00 per module. Discover what creates “voice”, where it resides, proper breathing techniques, voice placement, sound projection, vocal exercises and meditations in this fun and experiential class. Lots of tips for maintaining a healthy voice and body. Colours of the Voice through the Chakras Nov. 17, 24, Dec. 8, 15. Access the restorative aspects of the voice through this unique and intimate study of the energy of the chakras. The ultimate goal of the exploration is to deepen the vocalist’s connection with themselves and open up to a wider range of emotional vocal expression. Soul Song & Song Making Jan. 12, 19, 26, Feb. 9 Learn how to access and look deeper into the way words arise from the heart of song.We are all singers and we are all songwriters. During these four experiential weeks we will look closely at what makes a song: using sounds, melody, words and our life experiences. The Compassionate Voice Feb. 16, 23, March 9, 16 Experience and learn how to offer the voice in the areas of compassionate work including: tender circles, hospice, energy work, cradling and more. Lots of opportunity to be both receiver and sound maker, with discussion around both roles. Facilitating Vocal Sound Circles: March 23, 30 April 13, 20 Come away with a solid understanding of circle protocol and some of the important aspects of interactive sounding.
